IV. Developing reading skills
T: not only you like travelling. Your pen-friend from The USA likes it
too. But something was wrong with our computer you’ve got only pieces of
it in your envelops. So arrange parts of the letter in the logical
order.
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your letters. It was interesting to know about your trips
last summer.
I also like travelling to different cities. Sometimes I go to other
countries too. I travel by sea, by train or fly. I like voyages very
much and often take pictures on board of the ship.
I would like to tell you some things which happened to me when I was
travelling to London. It was not a lucky trip. I nearly missed my train
because I arrived late at the railway station. In the train somebody
stole my photo camera. There was no taxi or bus to take me to the hotel
and so I had to go on foot.
When I came up to the hotel, it was midnight. I was very tired but the
lift didn’t work. So I was very unhappy and slept badly.
However, in the morning the sun began to shine again and life seemed
brighter. Then I heard my favourite song over the radio and felt better.
“There is nothing like travelling”, I said. “Only look at the bright
side”.
