Poleshchuk S.V. Biological activity of antioxidants in in vitro tomato
tissue culture. – Manuscript.

Kherson State Pedagogical University of Ministry of Education of
Ukraine, Kherson, 1998.

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of in vitro antioxidants (AO)
effect on tomato explants growth and development. Our results showed,
that AO regulate growth of roots, shoots, regeneration from callus and
can play an active role in nutritious media not only as antistress
agents, but as growth stimulators too. We determined, that AO-inhibitors
and reducing agents have considerable differences in biological
activity. There were studied particularities of different explant types
reaction on addition AO into medium. Phenoxan, a phenolic synthetic AO,
is the most perspective for tomato micropropagation. It using, based on
determination of optimal concentrations for concrete cultivars, may
increase considerably efficiency of technologies of in vitro
micropropagation.
