Levanets A.A. Soil algae of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe of the Ukraine.

The dissertation is devoted to study of algal composition in the soils
of broad-leaves, pine forests and meadow steppe of Left-Bank
Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Algal flora of this region totals 297 species
(314 intraspecific taxa), which 15 classes, 33 orders, 67 families, 122
genera concern to 7 divisions. It has been shown that high species
diversity of families Chlamydomonadaceae, Chlorococcaceae,
Pleurochloridaceae and Neochloridaceae is zonal feature of soil algal
flora of region. The basis of algal flora is made by species of zonal
phytocoenoses. The protected conditions on different sites of
Mikhailovskaya Tselina Preserve steppe essentially influences on
systematic and coenological structure of algal floras. The density of
carry viable algal diaspores by air flows testifies to necessity of
allocation and analysis actively growing (native) complex of soil algal
flora. In composition of soil algae of Left-Bank Forest-Steppe 12
syntaxons are installed. The background formulas of algal synusia are
offered, which can be used in process of monitoring of terrestrial
ecosystems of region of researches. Original dichotomizing keys for
determination of Bracteacoccus and Gloeobotrys species, which are found
in Ukrainian soils, are offered.
