Liseenko E.V. Mentality: the Essence and Peculiarities of the Regional
Varieties. – Manuscript.

The dissertation is submitted to the degree of candidate of Sociological
sciences on speciality 22.00.06 – Sociology of Culture, of Education and
Science.

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of studying mentality. The
status of the notion “mentality” in category system of the sociological
knowledge, its structure and functions are described in the thesis. As
the method of studying mentality, it was proposed the analysis of
attribute elements of its qualitative nucleus. The peculiarities of the
regional varieties of population mentlity of Ukraine has been
determined.

The key words: mentality, values and standards of the essence of
mentality, peculiarity of the regional variety of mentality.
