Thesis for degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biology, speciality
03.00.20 – biotechnology.-O.V.Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 1998.

The thesis contains the results on optimization of basic characteristics
of conductometric enzyme biosensors and creation of highly effective and
stable systems for analysis of real samples. Influence of the
experimental conditions, materials, forms and sizes of electrodes on
characteristics of the transducers was thoroughly investigated, and
practical recommendations for their optimal selection were developed.
Working characteristics of biosensors based on conductometric
transducers and pH-sensitive field-effect transistors for determination
of penicillin were compared. Some ways of purposeful change of
analytical characteristics of conductometric biosensors such as
sensitivity and dynamic range of measurements were proposed, and their
detailed analysis was conducted. The glucose conductometric biosensor
for analysis of real samples (blood and cultural media) without
treatment was developed.
