The dissertation deals with the process of finding connection between
the definitions of polyphony and texture. There has been developed in
the work a new theoretic direction, based on the concept of specific
manifastation of the action of the logical polyphonic principles and the
laws of a psychology of musin perception in a given work of music. There
is established that a polyphonic type of thinking is connected with some
laws and phenomena which are characteristic of the XXth Century music,
namely Ukrainian. A new notion “a textural-polyphonic complex” as well
as its classification have been proposed. There have been introduced
methods of the scientific and methodological use of the new notions, and
their high efficiency is proved both theoretically and also by practical
analysis of music work.

Key words: polyphonic type of thinking, textural organization, logical
laws, textural-polyphonic complex, art continuum of time and space,
monotematism, conflictless dramaturgy, coordinates of the vertical,
horizontal and depth, psychology of perception.
