Great Britain (90 th XXth century).- Manuscript.

Thesis for the Candidate’s degree by Spesiality 13.00.01.-Theory and
History of Education.-National Pedagogical M.P. Dragomanov University,
Kyiv, 1998 .

The present situation of the development and improvement of British
teachers is investigated in this thesis. Historic traditions of teacher
education in Great Britain are retraced in this work. Content and main
trends of government policies concerning British teacher education
process is analized. The functioning of teacher preparation
establishments and institutions is described. The main content of
innovative British educational forms (scientific, media, environment,
peace, intercultural) is covered in this thesis. Some practical
recommendations concerning the usage of British experience in teacher
education and in the system of Ukrainian pedagogical education are
suggested.
