The dissertation is devoted to the study of the specificity V.Shevchuk’s
intellectual prose in two interdependent aspects:

typological connections V.Shevchuk’s works’ poetics with the poetics of
the “chimerical” novel;

existentialistic principles influence on the problematics of the
writer’s prose.

This systematization gives the possibility of a more profound study of
specific traits of innovation V.Shevchuk’s prose, just as understanding
for its philosophical and intellectual conception.

In the work for the first time an attempt has been made is a complex
literary analysis of Shevchuk’s output.

Comprehensive analytic and synthetic studies over V.Shevchuk’s
intellectual prose make it possible to introduce his individual creative
achievements into context of the literary criticism concept about the
contemporary Ukrainian novel.
