In all variety of aspects of study of creativity and activity of the
founder of Ukrainian school of composition N.V.Lysenko problems of his
contacts with Polish culture have not found due illumination. The
offered research expands representation about importance of creative
work of F.Shopin in formation of aesthetic sights of N.Lysenko, in his
formation as composer, piano player and teacher. In the survey of his
educational, concert and pedagogical repertoir the significant place of
piano works of the Polish composer comes to light. On the basis of the
numerous documentary certificates (periodic editions, archival
documents, memoirs of the contemporaries, letters of the composer) some
peculiarities of his perception and interpretation of Shopin’s
compositions are opened. Besides, dynamics of functioning of F.Shopins
music in Ukrainian culture of pre-Lysenko period is traced. On a
material of the analysis of piano works by N.Lysenko the complicated
parity of his composer style with traditions of Western European
romanticists and in particular with creativity of F.Shopin is studied.
The specified questions are considered as in aspect of development of
the basic tendencies of musical art and in a wide social, political,
historical and cultural context of the international relations in the
XIXth century. In the review of Ukrainian-Polish interrelations special
attention is given to Polish contacts of N.V.Lysenko and also Ukrainian
reminiscences in F.Shopin’s creativity. Processes of interaction of
national cultures are studied by the author of the given research from
positions of approaches existing in comparativistics in utilization of
the newest or earlier not publiched works by historians, culturologists,
literary critics.
