The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the process of formation and
development of the notion “method of cognition” in the philosophy. The
main purpose of the work is the revelation problem of the method of
cognition and the development of the integral concept of the
philosophical method.

The main stages of the development of the method of cognition in the
history of philosophy are investigated, the tendencies of formation of
the varied philosophical methods are revealed and the peculiarities of
theirs combinations are defined. The suggestions on the improvement of
the method of cognition are propounded.
