The thesis analyses psychological mechanisms of origin and regulation of
socially dangerous crowd phenomena. It represents a generalized system
of socio-psychological indicators for their diagnosis, which serves as a
basis for development of scientifically founded psychological
recommendations as to conditions when the personnel of the law
enforcement bodies effectively realizes the measures for prevention and
stopping the development of socially dangerous mass-like processes. The
study proposes and substantiates the complex of instrumental
professionally significant qualities of law enforcement bodies personnel
which are necessary for competent fulfilment of law and order
preservation tasks in the conditions when there forms and develops an
active (first of all aggressive) crowd. The practical significance of
results obtained consists in substantiating, development and testing a
training for professional preparation of various categories of law
enforcement bodies personnel, so as to purposefully form in them a
psychological readiness to act in situations when socially dangerous
forms of mass-like behavior are manifested.
