The paper presents historial-pedagogical ananysis of the process of
formation and development of the system of adults` education in Galicia
in 1867-1918. For the first time the thesis presents the aktivity of
Ukrainian and Polish cultural-edukational and ekonomic-societies, party,
religious and professional organizations on popularizing and spreading
knowledge, developing theory and practice of adults` education.

The principal results, statements and conclusions of the research can
be applied in teaching History of Pedagogy by scholars and teachers in
working auf the fundamentals of modern system of education of adults in
Ukraine and Poland. They will contribute to preserving and spreading
pedagogical experience.
